Fall-Autumn Table Inspiration & a Stunning Autumn Pumpkin Candlelit Centerpiece

Welcome to the 570th Tablescape Thursday!

I always love it when I hear from readers of Between Naps On The Porch, especially when they share photos their beautiful porches and tables with me. Autumn weather and the holidays are just around the corner! Hard to believe, isn’t it?

Recently I received an email from Maureen with pictures of a beautiful table she created for Thanksgiving this past year. Since this table would be stunning anytime during the autumn-winter season, I’m sharing it today in case you would love a bit of inspiration for your fall dining.

The first thing I noticed was the gorgeous paisley tablecloth Maureen used for this setting. It’s absolutely perfect for an autumn table in beautiful shades of green, red and gold. I found a couple of them still left here: Paisley Tablecloth. Very tempted to pick one of those up, would work great in my red dining room!

Fall Autumn Table, Perfect for Thanksgiving Table Setting

As you scroll through the photos, you’ll see a few changes in the centerpiece as Maureen created two very different looks by just changing out her candles.

Beautiful Centerpiece for Fall, Autumn or Thanksgiving

I think this is my favorite with the beautiful cream-colored candles. I love how it brings out the cream in the dinnerware.

I love the beautiful gold-rimmed glassware Maureen chose for this table. She wasn’t sure but she thinks she found it in either Home Goods or Ross many years back. Her flatware is Mikasa Cameo Gold. I like that gold edging. It looks beautiful with the stemware but I was just thinking how great it would be paired with gold-rimmed dinnerware at Christmastime. Love that idea!

I found several gold-edged flatware sets available here, including the Mikasa Cameo Gold: Gold-edged Flatware. I especially love this set for 12: Gold Edged Flatware for 12.

Thanksgiving Table Inspiration, Autumn-Fall Table Inspiration

Such cute dinnerware for autumn and Thanksgiving! Maureen said, “The Victorian English Pottery is by Edward Challinor, made in England and purchased at Home Goods. This company makes the same dishes (identical size and shape of dishes; identical pattern on the rim) with animals other than a turkey–a deer, a fox, and a pheasant–all of which I have seen for sale at Home Goods at different times. The store usually starts putting out fall dishware in early August–and it sells fast!”

This would definitely be the time to start looking if you would love to change up your dinnerware for this fall.

I just noticed the beautiful leaf placemats underneath the chargers…love those!

Love this wonderful “turkey” napkin fold Maureen used for her Thanksgiving table! The napkin rings perfectly hold it together and coordinate so beautifully with the rattan chargers. Maureen found her rattan chargers here: Rattan Chargers. The rattan napkin rings are currently on sale here: Rattan Napkin Rings. I think I need some of those!

Turkey Napkin Fold for Thanksgiving Fall Dinner

Thanks so much to Maureen for sharing her beautiful autumn Thanksgiving table for this week’s Tablescape Thursday! This is getting me excited to set some autumn tables. I’m sure I’ll have to put together a few more summer tables since I let go of the porch for another month or two. But the fall tables are coming soon!

  1. I always love the uniqueness of everyone’s tables. It goes to show how diverse we all are. Thanks for keeping this going. It’s so inspiring. And being from Florida, I’m totally looking forward to Fall and Winter weather. Although we usually don’t get it until January. LOL!

  2. That’s really handsome. I love that rustic/romantic, masculine/feminine signature look RL always delivers!

  3. Maureen, that tablecloth is a great base and you finished it off very nicely. I like the touches like the leafy placemat–and I would have missed it, so thanks for mentioning it Susan. I say ivory candles for a fall table, and the gold tapers for Thanksgiving dinner.

  4. That paisley tablecloth is gorgeous and I love the napkin treatment. It’s always fun to be inspired by others.

  5. Very pretty. Love the dishes and the stemware. Love the bowls with Mr. Turkey. ~ It’s amazing what a difference the change of candles made in the centerpiece. I think even just changing the pillars would have made quite the difference. Not sure which I like best, they are both lovely. But those chairs! I love those painted chairs. Very cozy. Thanks, Susan and Maureen for sharing.

  6. A lovely table all around. Thanks for the inspiration.
My hat is off to anyone who can find that many plates at Home Goods. In this area you have to be really fast !

  7. Maureen’s table is just beautiful and so warm and welcoming.
I was at Arundel Castle today, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Norfolk and got a picture of a beautiful set table and a sideboard. They were roped off so I couldn’t get a snap looking down at a place setting. Susan, I do have a website to link to but can send the pictures if you reply to this.

  8. Maureen did a lovely job. Everything is so perfect and just right for Autumn. Thank You for sharing.

  9. I love fall tables the best . This one is outstanding.

  10. Lost my hair tonight. Pulled it out trying to find Maureen’s tablecloth. No luck. I’m now shopping for a wig.

Kem, don’t despair. Just keep checking your local Home Goods on a regular basis (like every time they get a truck in) for the next several weeks. They will probably get in several Ralph Lauren tablecloths with fall patterns before long–perhaps this one or perhaps one you like better. The table linens area in my local store hasn’t received many fall items yet, other than tablecloths for Halloween. But it won’t be long before they have a huge selection, and yours will, too. They should have matching napkins and table runners as well. But here’s the rule about Home Goods that every regular HG shopper has learned; when you see it, get it, or it will be gone–sometimes before you even leave the store. It’s better to buy it and then return it if you decide you don’t want it than to regret not picking it up when you had the chance.

Very pretty and I really like those chargers and napkins rings also. Fall is coming fast and we have had a major cool down today, only around 70, but I’m holding onto summer a bit longer. Not ready to put away my nautical dishes and sea shell charges, love them too much.

  12. What a gorgeous rich table – I love both candle choices! Thanks to Maureen and you for the great ideas!

  13. Susan, I have the same dining chairs as Maureen and I need 2 more. Does anyone know where I can in some? I doubt that they are still being manufactured but gently used ones would be fine. Thanks. Love your blog!

  14. Maureen D. Eha says

Thank you very much, Susan, for featuring my Thanksgiving tablescape in your blog. It was a true honor! And thank you to all of your subscribers/followers for the kind comments. I love hearing which items people like best in the centerpiece and in the tablescape as a whole; as someone said, we continue to learn from each other! I think some individual turkey tureens like yours (instead of the bowls I used) would look GREAT in this tablescape and would provide a bit more interest than using all matching dinnerware. Hope I can find some!

  15. This is a beautiful table. I love the paisley tablecloth and napkins for fall. So fresh. I love when fall approaches. Time to break out the Spode Woodland and the Lynn Chase Winter Game Birds. Unfortunately the Chase, just like the chairs, has been discontinued and I will have to be content with what I have. I loved that china. You could bring it out in September and use right through Christmas, but when a pattern is discontinued the price just becomes exorbitant.

With temps in the high 60’s low 70’s..it’s beginning to feel a lot like..Autumn!

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
