On the Porch for Halloween

Welcome to the 577th Tablescape Thursday!

I set this table inside, then moved the whole thing outside onto the porch. Though overcast, it was just too nice out to be cooped up inside.

Halloween Tablescape on the Porch

I tried to explain to Mr. Pheasant that he’s an autumn centerpiece better suited for Thanksgiving tables, but he wasn’t having it.

Whimsical Halloween Table with Mummy Salad Plates, Pumpkin Chargers & Black Roses-Spider Centerpiece

He insisted on holding our Halloween bouquet of black roses and spiders for today’s Tablescape Thursday. (Just noticed Mr. Pheasant is currently on sale 20% off with the code FRIENDS here: Pheasant. )

Maybe he’ll be like Mr. Bunny and show up throughout the year at the most unexpected times. (View this Christmas table setting here: Christmas Tablescape.)

I found these adorable mummy plates in HomeGoods during fall of last year, but never got around to using them in a table setting. They only had four plates so I need to keep my eye out for a few more.

The spider napkin ring had spun itself around in this photo. You’ll get a better view of it further down in this post.

Pumpkin Chargers, Mummy Plates, Halloween Napkins

The black dinner plates are from A Classy Flea many years ago. Pumpkin Chargers are from Pier 1 either last year or the year before.

The napkins are layered with black tulle I cut into squares many years ago.

Here’s a better view of the fun napkin design. Soo cute! Napkins are available here: Napkins for Halloween.

Halloween Napkins

The spiders in our rose centerpiece have crawled down and perched themselves atop our napkins! Eeek!

(Napkin rings are from Pier 1 several years ago and the beautiful black flatware is available here: Black Flatware.)

The arched-back, black cat wine glasses were from Overstock online several years back. I don’t know if they are still available…didn’t see them online.

Here’s a better photo of them from a previous Halloween table. I love these silly things!

Happy Halloween to you!

  2. I love that table Susan! The rusty orange accent in the black and white is just perfect for Halloween. I bet Mr Pheasant and Mr Bunny secretly discuss how to infiltrate the table settings when you’re not around. 🙂 Thanks for yet more wonderful inspiration, and for hosting Tablescape Thursday! ❤️

  12. Everything about your tablescape is perfect. Love Mr. Pheasant’s presence in all your table settings. Looks like you had fun creating this table and that’s what’s important about holidays.

    • I promise he won’t be in every table from here out. lol I just couldn’t resist when I was deciding on a centerpiece and remembered I had the black roses. He was right there on the breakfast table, just tempting me to use him again this week. 😉 Thanks, Mary!

  13. Thank you so much for hosting and for sharing your great Halloween table. I too am posting my 2019 Halloween setting; had so much fun creating it.

  16. Cute Halloween table, Susan!

  17. lol Susan,
after seeing pic #1 I thought to myself, why is Susan putting giant “buttons” on her table, today, hmmm… then I saw it’s mummy plates! (Okay, don’t laugh, you know it’s already 2:45 a.m. here, where I live, so…) 😀
Seriously, love them, they’re really funny! Are those octagonal plates just black or b/w? However, they all, combined with your pumpkin chargers are perfect for Halloween! Love everything on your table, even those plastic spiders! (I can’t believe I said that!) 😉
Good night, Susan, I better head off to bed! 🙂

    • Ha! They do look like giant buttons from a distance. Up close you can see the “fabric” folds. lol
Yup, the dinner plates are just all black…no pattern.
Thanks, Cecilia! I was hoping the spiders wouldn’t freak out folks too much. I’m not a spider fan but don’t mind these. lol

  18. Jill from Southern NH says

Susan, your use of black, white & orange is striking! I look forward to your tablesettings every week!

  19. Linda Gomoll says

Susan, took your advice and called our local WS in Palm Desert and violia! they had one Pheasant – looks fabulous with a bouquet of fall flowers.

  20. Love the whimsy of this table and yes even the spiders. ☺ Out of curiosity when purchasing such items as plates or stemware how many of a specific pattern do you buy?
