I just looked through all their dresses and I don’t see it, so maybe it’s a dress from a previous season that’s no longer available. I love the color! I love so many of these dresses but at 65 I am finding a lot of dresses I find online too short for my comfort level at this point. I have shrunk to 5’5″ but my legs are fairly white even in the middle of summer (we have a pool but I don’t let my skin get too much sun) I just feel old enough that I don’t feel comfortable with dresses much above my knee – especially because then when I sit down they are way short. Just a comment I guess – some of the ones you show look to be way short – do you find this an issue yet?
I can’t wear the midi style because I’m so short at 5’4″, they look terrible on me. One thing to keep in mind is the women you see wearing these dresses are usually 5’9″ and 5’10”. I noticed one dress that was really short on a model was described as coming just above the knee. They need to show them on people who are more normal height because they aren’t as short as they look. When I buy Lilly Pulitzer dresses, they always look short online but then hit me right at the knee or maybe slightly above. I wish I could wear a midi dresses, I love how they look on taller women, but they look silly on me, more like maxi dresses.
I agree with you on this. As an older woman I do not understand or appreciate mini dresses on women over 60. I am 5’4 and wear tea length midi dresses and get so many compliments. I am not overweight so that is not the issue.
None of the dresses in this post are mini dresses. Mini dresses are much shorter than then any of the dresses in this post. Also, the models are 5’9″ and 5’10” so they will be a lot longer than appear on the models, unless of course, you’re the same height. For example, I shop from Lilly Pulitzer all the time, both in person and online and the dresses always look shorter online but usually hit right above the knee.
I am much shorter (and maybe older) but I know what you are talking about. They are too short or too young looking or sleeveless. I can’t buy clothing unless I try it on, which is becoming a problem as more stores close and everything is online. Hats off to Susan, who seems to be a master at online shopping, and our resource guide.
What is the quality of the clothes. I find that ordering from the cheaper foreign companies the quality is very poor and does not withstand laundry. Also, sometimes you don’t even get what you think you ordered. Have not heard of the companies you have made mention of so wanted to check it out before diving in. Everything is so beautiful and Springy!
Well, the dresses from Belk and Tuckernuck should be fine. I’ve ordered from both of those stores many times. The Amazon dresses are easily returned if you don’t like them, so I wouldn’t hesitate ordering any of those. The best thing to do is verify their return policy before ordering, and do a search to see their reviews online.
I love all the pretty, feminine clothes. So nice when women dress like ladies. I especially like that cute eyelet mini in the baby blue and those pretty, floral tops. We’re supposed to have snow this week, so right now I’m just dreaming of warm days. Thanks, Susan.
