Welcome to the 832nd Tablescape Thursday! It has been a busy morning here so I’m running way behind. Thought I’d give you an update on the kitchen and share something I’m excited to see is back, but in limited quantities.
The kitchen currently looks like this. The repairs have been completed after the recent issue where the hose to the icemaker decided to spring a leak. I’m so happy to see the wall whole again. The painting was just getting started when I had to leave for the refrigerator delivery in Ohio—the first one where the refrigerator arrived with two dents in front. They will be starting again in the kitchen this Monday, finishing the restoration of the desk and completing the painting. I checked into having that whole area redone with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, but they implied it would be very expensive to have done. Honestly, I think they just didn’t want to do it, so I’ll just let them restore the desk as it was.
The breakfast room currently looks like this. Can’t wait to get the refrigerator back where it goes.
This is some of the molding that was removed and that will go back in place above the desk. This molding runs across my backsplash on the other side of the kitchen, as well.
Though I wasn’t able to set a table this week with all that’s been going on here in the house, I’m excited to share something that I discovered a few days ago. William Sonoma has brought back some of their tartan dinnerware, but I think it may be in limited quantities since they didn’t bring back their red tartan dinner plates and the tartan bedding that I love so much.
Maybe it’s early and they will still bring back the plates, I sure hope so!
Tartan chargers are available here: Tartan Chargers.
Their tartan napkins are still available, as are their tablecloths. The napkins are available here: Tartan Napkins. You’ll find their tartan tablecloths available here: Tartan Tablecloths.
I am super tempted to add a few of their green charger plates to my charger collection. I love how this looks in the image below! Chargers are available here: Green Tartan Charger Plates. The napkins are available here: Green Tartan Napkins.
Before the red tartan collection is completely gone for good, I want to snag one of their aprons. It makes me sad that this collection appears to be being phased out now. They have had it going for a long time, for which I’m thankful. It has to be one of my favorite collections ever! (Tartan apron is available here: Tartan Apron.)
Are you starting to think about the holidays now? I can’t believe it’s already September! Looking forward to the beautiful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!
If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.
Susan, so sorry you have so much to deal with all at once. You seem to be handling it with your usual Susan aplomb. I sure hope your insurance is covering that ice-maker leak.
I also love the tartan collection. Both colors are beautiful. It’s still hot here, but cooler than it’s been. I am just beginning to feel that autumn is around the corner.
Good luck with your continued projects!
Thanks, Pam! Just hope they do a great job with the desk rebuild. Can’t wait until all of that is back to normal.
I do like that green tartan pattern! Maybe this time next week, your kitchen will be back together. Fingers crossed for you.
I sure hope so, I’m ready for them to get finished with that. Thanks, Mia!
Wow Susan! You have a lot going on. Thank you for hosting us amidst all the projects. I’m loving the look of the green chargers… Oh no! Good luck with everything. XO- MaryJo
Thanks, MaryJo!
Whoa…seems like everyone is “charging” to the sled already…yikes. Proverbial bird…gets… franki
Christmas will be here before we know it!
Oh my gosh Susan! I have been looking for those green tartan chargers since they sold out last Christmas and I was so hoping they would bring them back. As soon as I saw your post, I jumped on the WS website and ordered them. So thank you thank you for the heads up! I can only imagine that you are eager to have your kitchen and breakfast room back to normal and I hope everything turns out exactly how you want. P.S. Life is short; get the apron.
Susan, you were meant to be a construction manager ! It’s hard when things don’t go as fast as we would like or things arrive damaged when we have a plan in place. Or worse yet somebody bursts your bubble. So glad a WS isn’t close by. So many pretties. I really like green chargers. Then I kept opening the link- I love all of them. Raise your hand if you have regrets putting off a self indulging purchase. I love Asian decor. One year GoodWill had a really big set of Asian china. I kept talking myself out of them because I had other big items to replace in my house. I got so upset they did not respect that china and kept moving it and people handling it. Ugh. Finally, it was sold to end my misery. Life is short. Order the apron. We could all use some warm fuzzy moments this year.
Remember, if you are downsizing and the kids don’t want your stuff- we are here for you ! LOL
