Life is Short, Buy the Dish!

Welcome to the 620th Tablescape Thursday!

With the big Nordstrom Anniversary sale going on this week, I was curious to see if it included any tabletop items. I’m always on the watch for great sales for kitchen and dishware goodies. I’m not at home this week to set a table so today I’m sharing some of my faves from the sale. I’ve also included a few items that I really like but may not be on sale right now.

I don’t think this crab collection is currently on sale but Oh, my gosh, it is sooo cute! I’m obsessed with these nautical compass/crab charger plates! They are available here: Charger Plates

The dinner plates are just as cute! You’ll find them here: Dinner Plates

Below you’ll find links to all the pieces I could find available in this delightful, beachy-nautical pattern. (Click any picture link below to access that piece.)

Anniversary Sale

The items below are currently included in the big Anniversary Sale except for a few of the white dinnerware sets. I went ahead and included those since a basic white set of dishware is the ideal base or starting point for any table setting.

We may not be having a lot of parties or entertaining as much this summer as usual, but we can still make summer special for ourselves and our family. My motto: Life is short, Buy the dish! 😉

Did you know Between Naps On The Porch is on Instagram? You’ll find me on Instagram here: Between Naps On The Porch.

Tablescape Thursday

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate.

That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yep, that really happens, unfortunately.)

Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links.

Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

This party has ended, click button below for the links to all who participated.

  1. Thank you Susan, the crab plates are so much fun!

  2. Buy the dish — yes, yes! Spending all of our breakfasts, lunches and dinners at our own tables certainly calls for some new dishes, lol!

  3. I’m loving the copper and marble these days – so beautiful! Thanks for all the great choices Susan, and Happy Shopping!

    • I love those, too…especially combined with wood. Thanks, Barbara! I have to wait since I don’t have a Nordstrom card or early access, but super tempted by what I’m seeing.

I just saw a picture of one of your table settings on Facebook under Vintage Rose Kitchen. I just wondered if they had your permission to post.

    • No. Unfortunately, that happens a lot on there. 🙁

    • Bernadette, if you’re a member of that group, please ask them to remove it. I can’t see any way to contact them. Appears you have to join the group to contact them. I wouldn’t mind them using it if they would just link back to the blog or my Facebook page.
      Thanks!

  5. Life is short; buy the dish! Love it!

Most of my collection is based on your philosophy-Life is short, buy the dish! LOL! I find beautiful and fun dishes everywhere-rummage sales, thrift stores, antiques shops, Dollar Tree, eBay, and department stores. Sadly, they’re closing and options are getting scarce. The only places in my hometown where I can browse and/or buy dinnerware is at Walmart or Dollar Tree. The city two hours south has lost several options, most of all I will miss Pier 1 Imports!

I collect all kinds of dinnerware and continue to do so. There ARE worse habits, and at least my collection is usable! 🙂

    • I know, makes me so sad to see favorite shops closing up. Someone commented recently saying that someone purchased Pier 1 and planned to still keep the online store open. I hope that’s true.

  7. Among your finds, I see quite a few pieces I’d like to have.

  8. Thank you so much for hosting! This week I am excited to share my summer floral arrangement in yellow and white. Hope you have a great rest of your week!

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
