Welcome to the 485th Metamorphosis Monday!
I’ve been visiting with family the last few weeks so don’t have a typical Before and After to share, but I do have an amazing event to share that is a stunning Before and After. It only happens during the spring each year and draws visitors from everywhere. It makes me want to travel to Zambia so I can see it in person.
Thanks goes to Winnie for sharing this with me a while back. Hope you enjoy this very short video. Click HERE to watch, The Elephants That Came to Dinner.
I post almost daily on Instagram. Follow Between Naps on the Porch on Instagram here: Between Naps On The Porch. If you enjoyed this post, subscribe for free email updates when a new post is up here: Subscribe for post updates.
Metamorphosis Monday
Metamorphosis Monday is a party that’s all about Before and Afters. If you are participating in Met Monday, please link up using the “permalink” to your MM post and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then just copy and paste the address that shows up in the address bar at the top of your blog, into the “url” box for InLinkz.
In order to link up, you’ll need to include a link in your MM post back to the party so the other participants will have an opportunity to receive visits from your wonderful blog readers.
Please observe these few rules:
Please link up Before and After posts that are home, gardening, decorating, crafting, painting, sewing, cooking, fashion or DIY related.
Be sure to include a link back to the party in your post, so your readers will be able to find and visit the other bloggers who are participating.
Do not link up to the party if you’re only doing so to promote or sell a product.
To those who are linking up: If you notice a shop or online store linking up to sell products (yes, unfortunately, that does happen) please let me know so I can remove their link and block them from participating in future parties. No one wants to click a link expecting a Before and After, only to find a spam link to an online business/store.
Thanks so much for hosting!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Thank you Susan!
Elephant love Susan…and baby Wellington, be still my heart! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video!
Thanks for sharing the video. It was great!
How precious! Baby Wellington is just darling! How awesome would that be to see in person! Thank you for sharing!
I would so love to see this in person. What noble animals they are. The baby is adorable!
What a great video! I love elephants and wished poachers would just leave them alone. They’re beautiful and smart animals! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks to Susan & Winnie for this beautiful video! I love elephants and baby Wellington is adorable!!
Thanks Susan, this was a wonderful video. They walk through the hotel and never touch or destroy anything, that is what was amazing to me,unlike some humans.
I had seen the ads for Elephant Sands Lodge in Botswana, but this one is even more astonishing. What an experience this would be.
I truly love elephants. They have such an ability to bond with people. Perhaps you might enjoy this article I bookmarked a few years back on the man called the “elephant whisperer” who rescued elephants in South Africa.

Thank you for sharing.
This is an event that has been kept under wraps. And so awesome that they allowed Baby Wellington to go up to the jeep. Amazing coexistence example.
That was so cool!!! I do hope they keep it quiet for a very long time and not exploit it.
Love this video. You did something on these elephants a couple of years ago around the time you were going to Africa. Would love to see this for real. Speaking of Africa……….Pictures? Am I ever going to get pictures from you??
What a wonderful video! Baby Wellington is so adorable! Thanks for sharing it and thanks for hosting.
Such an interesting event. Loved the video. Thank you for posting.
Oh my gosh! That video brought tears to my eyes!!! That is truly astounding!
Thank you Susan for sharing this, and for hosting – and thanks to Winnie for getting it to you.
It is so much fun to be joining you today with a Met Monday submission!
Hope you enjoy meeting the Yankee tea ladies! I’d have given anything to go on this excursion, but couldn’t due to hosting a houseful of out of town guests in just a few days, in for my nieces high school graduation party.
Hugs.
Thank you so much for sharing. I love elephants….they are so smart and always stay close to their family and their babies. That baby is adorable !
I just loved seeing it. Thanks again !
Loved the video Susan, and yes, you MUST plan on visiting when they do this! I wonder how much it is? Maybe I’ll join you 🙂
I had seen this video before – sadly, Wonky Tusk was found slaughtered but her sister/daughter (can’t remember which) continues the annual excursion to the tree through the Inn. Other elephants avoid the Inn and climb over a small wall on the other side of the tree. Only Wonky Tusk’s group goes through the Inn to the tree. Thanks for sharing this – We need to protect our wildlife on this planet.
Oh, I’m so sad to read Amma’s post that Wonky Tusk has been killed. It hurts my heart. I never tire of watching this video.
Beautiful and amazing, thank you for sharing!
One of the most amazing videos I’ve seen—Thank you for posting it !!!

Thank you Susan for this wonderful video…absolutely loved it….
Susan, I shared this with my office team this morning. A really neat way to start our day. I have 5 women who work in my agency (State Farm Insurance) and we all enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing.
Well…I’m doing “elephant theme”…does that count…lovely pillow from Home Goods, huge elephant plant pot on Craig’s List and cute little statue from World Market…then there’s that elephant beer bottle…ok, enough. franki
Wonderful video. Brought tears to my eyes. I would so love to see this in person, although I know I would be crying the entire time. Such beautiful and intelligent creatures.
Thank you! This is so awesome. I have seen the videos of the Elephants walking through this lodge before. It is a dream of mine to see it in person one day. 🙂
We have elephants at the St Louis Zoo. The don’t act like this.
