Welcome to the 342nd Tablescape Thursday! Last week for Tablescape Thursday, I shared my friend, Marie's breakfast table that was set adorably for Easter. Marie also prepared her table in the dining room and it's just as wonderful! Notice how Marie used simple floral bouquets down the center of the table...perfect for spring! The pierced dinner plates in … [Read more...]
Froggy Fountain Repair and Makeover
Welcome to the 323rd Metamorphosis Monday! Happy Spring! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I spent part of the weekend bringing the plants I had wintered over in the garage, out onto the deck. I'm pushing it a bit since the rule of thumb here is to always wait until after April 15th to plant annuals since there's always a possibility of a freeze before that date. What is the first date recommended for … [Read more...]
In The BNOTP Library: On The Porch
The book I'm sharing today is one I purchased back in April 2007 when I was just starting to make plans for adding a screened porch onto the back of my home. It would be a full year before my porch was complete...just in time for its first summer of fun! In the BNOTP Library: On the Porch: Creating Your Place to Watch the World Go By Author: James M. Something keeps telling me the time to travel is now, while I'm still young enough to withstand the rigors of long flights, carrying luggage and lots of walking. Last night as I lay in bed, head spinning and wide awake … [Read more...]
A Trip to the South of France

They stayed in a charming old converted convent named La Madone. I looked at the photos of the rooms in La Madone online and they are beautiful! Meg captured this scene in the village … [Read more...]
In The BNOTP Library: The Well-Set Table
Every year the Atlanta Botanical Gardens hosts a garden tour called Gardens for Connoisseurs. It's always on Mother's Day weekend and for many, many years, Ryan Gainey's beautiful cottage garden has been on the tour. His garden has been a staple of the tour, a garden you could always count would be there to enjoy. The last time I took the tour, I was told it would no longer be included each year. I was … [Read more...]
A Spring Table Setting with the Easter Bunny
Welcome to the 340th Tablescape Thursday! It's been beautiful here, spring has arrived! The Redbud trees are through blooming and are pushing out leaves. The daffodils, forsythia and Bradford pears are blooming, too. I was so excited to see the Tardiva tree-form hydrangeas I planted in huge pots on the deck, survived the winter and are putting out new leaves. I love this time of year! Since it was … [Read more...]
