Digging for the Hidden Gems and I Found Them!

I love shopping during the end-of-season sales because that’s when you find the hidden gems–the absolute best deals! Talbots has a “sale- on-sale” going right now so the deals are extra good for this sale. This jacket I fell in love with earlier this spring is currently on sale, plus there’s an additional 60% off of the sale price. You’ll find it on sale here: Gingham Hooded Jacket.

Love this embroidered tunic! The combination of the blue and aqua feels so summery and beachy.

The embrodiered is really pretty! It’s on sale with an additional 60% off the sale price here: Embroidered Tunic Dress.

So many cute things on sale in this summer sale like this ruffled top tankini. It’s on sale with an additional 60% off here: Ruffle Tankini.

These adorable pants caught my eye–they are covered with the animals you would see while on a safari in Africa.

Here’s a closer view of the pattern. I’m very tempted by these. I have found that heavily patterned pants are normal very flattering on. These are also on sale with an additional 60% off the sale price here: Safari Themed Chinos.

If you have a beach trip planned before summer’s end, this would be perfect to throw on right out of the pool. It’s on sale with an additional 60% off, too. You’ll find it on sale here: Casual Hooded Coverup Dress.

This beautiful top comes in two colors, Sunrise Pink and this pretty Melon color. I love them both! It’s currently on sale with an additional 60% off the sale price here: Eyelet Top.

Of all the things that are on sale that I want from this sale, this is probably my favorite. I love the blue and aqua together so much! I also love the long sleeves that can be rolled up which makes it perfect for transitioning into to fall. It looks quite flattering, the way it comes down in back. It would look great with my white jeans that often wear during the spring and summer. Yup, I think I need this! You’l find it on sale with an additional 60% off the sale price here: Floral Top in Blue and Aqua.

The lemon tree top I purchased earlier in the spring is currently on sale with an additional 60% off. It’s available here: Lemon Tree Top.

Cute, cute dress and so perfect for summer since it’s made of linen, one of favorite fabrics for summer. I especially love the nautical blue stripes around the lower part. This dress is also on sale with an additional 60% off here: Linen Shift Dress.

There were two pairs of shoes that stole my heart in this sale. I love madras and these are adorable! They would be so cute with white shorts and almost any summer top. Love them! They are on sale with an additional 60% off the sale price here: Madras Espadrilles.

These are a bit different but I love them! Again, they would be so cute with white shorts…so summery and beachy! They are currently on sale with an additional 60% off the sale price here: Tie-Dye Blue and White Sneakers.

  1. Jill from Southern NH says

Talbots has had such great sales this summer! I browse the site often, and wait for the best sales on the things I love, which is tricky, because their prices do go up and down (a dress I bought last summer is currently selling for more than I paid last year!) I got the pink eyelet top you feature above – it’s flattering and comfortable, and I also got the dressy blue eyelet square neck top – the one with the scalloped hem, you shared in a previous post. The rattan tunic is pretty, and reminds me of the green & white rattan dress I got from Ann Taylor recently back when they had it at a really great price. It’s been the summer of dresses for me, due to the heat, and a lot of them are Talbots/AT end-of-season steals from previous years. Happy Shopping, Susan!

    • They have! Wow, sounds you like you got an amazing deal on that dress, Jill! I’m always worried they will sell out of my size if I wait too long.
Oh, yes–I remember that top! It is beautiful! I love a square neck top, I think those are so flattering! Casual dresses are really the coolest thing you can wear, even more so than shorts, especially if they are all cotton or linen. Those are my faves. Hope you find something wonderful in the sales they are having now. I’ve found the end-of-season sales are usually the best prices if you can find your size.

  2. Oh those safari pants would be so perfect for the Giraffe Manor, a destination that’s been on my bucket list since you visited and wrote about it!

  3. Can I suggest, as you switch from summer to winter clothes, you keep a box or bag in your closet for charity. If you decide you are not going to wear something this year, put it right in the charity box. If you are uncertain if you are going to wear it, turn the hanger around. If you wear it, put the hanger back the right way. That way you can see at a glance the things you have not worn. When you are ready to take the box to your favorite charity, take pictures of everything you are going to donate. Print the pictures and keep them with your taxes for that year. If your taxes are audited, you will have a visual record of what you donated.

    • Great tip, Lin! I have a box that I fill throughout the year with household goods, clothes, etc… that I take it to Goodwill. For clothes, if I find I don’t like or wear something very often, I fold it up and place it on shelves I have in another closet. If I haven’t missed it during the year, it goes in the donate box. I’m always editing–no point in keeping things that you don’t wear anymore.

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
