Last month was a busy month that involved a lot of traveling. I returned to Ohio, only to board a plane a few days later for a week-long trip to Breckenridge, Colorado, with family. Some of the purchases I made last month (and love) were connected to travel, but not all of them. One item that I purchased and was thankful to have was this Luggage Scale.
I knew before I left the house exactly what my checked bag weighed: 35 pounds. We had a long, long, long wait at curbside check-in in Cincinnati because the luggage conveyor was broken. An airport employee was having to manually carry every checked suitcase inside, leaving only one attendant at the curbside check-in desk. The lines inside were even worse. As we were waiting forever in line, I mentioned that my suitcase weighed 35 lbs, so if anyone’s luggage in our group turned out to be overweight, they could move some things over into my suitcase. When we finally made it to the desk with our luggage, my oldest grandson noticed/remarked that I was right when my suitcase was weighed. So this luggage scale was dead-on accurate, which is so important. If you often pack a large checked bag and would like to know you’re within the limit to avoid extra fees, you’ll find the luggage scale I use here: Luggage Scale.
Instagram gets me in so much trouble. Ha! I saw this on the gram and had to have one. I shared it with another fellow cat lover and she bought one, too. I was impressed with the quality when it arrived! It’s nice and thick and not at all scratchy…very pleased and wouldn’t hesitate to order additional hoodies from this company. You’ll find this hoodie available here: Funny Cat Hoodie.
Since I don’t always eat enough vegetables each day, as I should, I’ve been enjoying this Greens Blend Superfood. I think it really helps my digestive system, too. I took a tip from the reviews and found that I like to mix a scoop into about 4 ozs of water or tea, and drink it straight down quickly, following it up with more water or tea. It doesn’t taste terrible, but I just don’t want to drink it in a large beverage. I prefer to drink it down quickly, then follow it up with a favorite drink. I like how I feel when I’m taking it so much that when I forgot to take it on vacation to Colorado, I ended up ordering it online while I was there so I wouldn’t miss too many days without it. If you’re trying to get more nutrient-rich greens into your diet, you can read all this superfood contains here: Greens Blend Superfood.
Along the same lines, I’ve been taking this mineral repletion supplement ever since a close friend of mine told me that her doctor recommended it for her. I believe it used to only be available via a physician; that was the impression I got in talking with my friend, but I did find it available online. Before I ordered it, I called Xymogen directly to verify that the MinRex I was seeing online was indeed the real thing and authorized by their company. The representative I spoke with said yes, that MinRex was available now online, and they had someone handling the online store for them. After confirming that, I felt comfortable ordering it. It’s probably best to check with your doctor before taking any supplements, just to make sure that they won’t interfere with any other medicines you may be taking. You can read more about the minerals MinRex contains here: Xymogen MinRex for Mineral Repletion & Sports Nutrition.
A lovely BNOTP reader, Donna, told me about this delightful Agatha Christie puzzle before I left for vacation. I started it just as soon as I returned and loved it! So much fun!
If you’re an Agatha Christie mystery fan, you’ll find it available here: The World of Agatha Christie. There are several others in that series and those are available here: The World of Hercule Poirot and here: The World of Miss Marple. I’m sure I’ll be ordering those since this one was so much fun. The quality was excellent with thick, sturdy pieces and no puzzle dust!
The static in my hair was pretty rough in Breckenridge, so when I ordered the Greens Blend Superfood, I also ordered this anti-static/static block. It worked great and kept me from losing my mind with my hair sticking to my face. lol If you live in a state/area with very little humidity during the winter months, you’ll find it available here: Love is in the Hair.
Okay, this is a little wacky, I admit it, but I’ve always wanted to order one of these hidden camera detectors to take along with me when traveling. Ever since I started hearing so much in the news about hidden cameras being found in B&Bs, hotel rooms, and public restrooms, I’ve become a little paranoid about becoming a victim of one. There have been several reports in Georgia about hidden cameras being found in the Starbucks bathrooms in the Atlanta area. (Check out this article: 2nd Hidden Camera Found in Georgia Starbucks Bathroom.) There are also a lot of articles online about travelers finding them in B&Bs that they’ve rented. Just search for this topic online, and you’ll find a lot of articles/news stories about this growing issue.
Just for the heck of it, while we were on vacation in Colorado, I tried downloading a popular app that is supposed to detect hidden devices via your phone. It didn’t like the smoke alarm in my bedroom, so that’s why I ordered this hidden camera device while I was away on vacation. The detector didn’t have any issue with the smoke alarm, so I believe the app was giving a false positive. I ended up deleting the app. In any case, I like having this hidden camera detector for future trips for peace of mind. My family thinks I’m crazy, but they were curious what this device showed after the app on my phone had sounded the alarm! Ha!
I like that it will also detect if a GPS tracker has been placed under your car bumper, since I’ve been hearing more stories about bad guys/thieves doing that in the news. If you have a hidden camera device that you like and use when traveling, or have ever detected a hidden camera while staying in a hotel or B&B, please share about that in the comments! I hate that we even have to worry about stuff like this! By the way, if you ever find a hidden camera, from what I’ve read, it’s best to contact the local police, as opposed to mentioning it to the place where you’re staying. You’ll find the hidden camera detector that I purchased here: Hidden Camera Detector.
Happy Friday! Hope your weekend is awesome!
My son-in-law saw a weird light in the smoke detector in a hotel room while at a soccer tournament with my grandson. He called the desk and a maintenance worker took down the alarm and found a camera!
He has purchased a gadget like yours and checks every room now!
Wow! So smart of him to check for that. I hope the maintenance worker reported it to the police.
I didn’t know they had invented hidden camera detectors! I’m so glad you mentioned that, Susan. I don’t think you’re crazy at all (well, not for that reason anyway) :0P There are tons of stories about that sort of thing (sickos!) so it’s great to know these are available. I even remember president Trump mentioning that before he was elected the first time, that people are hiding them everywhere and they are so tiny. Glad to know there is a device that can help. I wonder how accurate it is. Actually, I wonder how it detects them.
I’ll have to do a search to see how it finds them. Very interesting!
I know, every time I turn around, there’s another story about someone finding one in a bathroom or B&B. They are so tiny, they can be hidden in just about anything. Crazy that we have to even worry about that.
Oh, and I LOVE the rock, paper, scissors hoodies, lol.
🙂
I love the cat hoodie. As for the new gadge, check your home. I have neighbors that are just nuts. We live in a different world today.
I did just for the heck of it, and it’s all fine. lol
That sweatshirt is perfect for my cat lady bestie birthday next week. Thanks!
Hope she loves it…I really like that it’s mostly all cotton and thick!
