Nautical, Beach & Fish Themed Flatware: Perfect for a Beach House or Lake Home

Welcome to the 618th Tablescape Thursday!

I’ve had this post in my head for a while and summertime is a great time to share it. If you’ve been following BNOTP for a bit, you know I love a fun, beach-themed table setting, especially this time of year. Over the years I’ve gradually collected several sets of flatware that would be great for use in a beach house, lake house, houseboat or any nautical style table setting.

Candlelight Beach Themed Table, Shell Sea glass Chargers

The first beachy feeling flatware I ever purchased was this pretty aqua set shown above and below. I found it in Kohl’s at the same time I came across the salad plates and bubble glassware shown in this table setting. I love, love, love the color aqua for summer and for beach/nautical tablescapes! It feels so fresh and summery!

Though the flatware I purchased is no longer available, I found this beautiful set and I actually like it a lot more than my current set. If you could use pretty aqua flatware for your summer tables, you’ll find this one available here: Aqua Blue Flatware. I think the code BNOTP may give you an extra 20% off at checkout.

Another nautical flatware I use a lot in my beachy tables is this one shown below.

Beach Themed Table with Sailboat Flatware & Shell Napkin Rings

This flatware features a cute sailboat and nautical rope design and I absolutely love it!

Here’s a closer view from another setting.

Nautical Flatware With Sailboats and Rope Edging

Fortunately, this flatware is still available and super reasonably priced! You’ll find it available here: Sailboat Flatware .

It’s also available for the same price here: Sailboat Flatware. I paid a good bit more when I bought my set so many years ago, so this is a fantastic deal!

Sailboat Nautical Flatware

I just used this twisted-rope design flatware a few weeks ago in this beach-themed tablescape.

Beachy Table, Crab Plates

I love it for nautical table settings because it always makes me think of nautical ropes and sailor’s knots. I love how it worked with the blue and white napkins I chose for this setting since they have a bit of rope design, as well. Unfortunately, this flatware has gotten really hard to find, but it appears there may still be some available here: Rope Design Flatware.

One of my all-time favorite beach-themed flatwares is this hilarious shark flatware. The design of this flatware makes me smile from ear to ear every time I pull it out for a fun beachy table setting. The knife. with its top fin, looks like a shark swimming through the waters when you turn it up on its blade. It will stay positioned that way since the tail supports it. So funny! 🙂

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be in stock at the moment, but it was available here: Shark Flatware. I hope they eventually get it back in stock.

Shark Fish Flatware for a Nautical Table

If you love the flatware above, here’s a possible alternative. I think this pattern is sooo cute! I’m super tempted to order some. You’ll find it available here: Fish Flatware.

Fish Flatware, Great for Fisherman

Here’s one more fish themed flatware. I think this would be so cute for a beach or lake home. You’ll find it available here: Fish Flatware.

I’ve been eyeing this pattern for a while. I love this anchor and rope design! You’ll find this pattern available here: Anchor Flatware.

Update: Thanks so much to Jill for sharing another beautiful flatware set with a beach motif. I am super tempted to buy a set of this beautiful flatware. In addition to twelve (12) 5-piece place settings and serving pieces, this set comes with an additional 12 teaspoons and 12 salad forks! Brilliant! That would be so helpful for serving dessert and coffee after dinner. Plus, it’s very reasonably priced for such a large flatware set. You’ll find this beautiful shell pattern here: Shell Flatware 90-piece set and here: Shell Flatware 90-Piece Set.

Do you love beach themed or fishing-themed table settings? I hope these flatware designs give you lots of inspiration for your future summer or beach/nautical themed tables!

To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate.

That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yep, that really happens, unfortunately.)

Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links.

Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

  1. I am a water lover. I could live in the water, on the water, surrounded by water, lol. So yes, I always love your summery, beach and nautical tables. Love the way you think of things, like in that first picture, the ‘sand-y’ colored napkins with the ‘water-y’ colored glasses and cutlery. Love it! And the fun flatware is just another detail that you incorporate so well. So far I have resisted buying a lot of cutlery sets. Grrr! They sure are fun though and they add a lot. Hmm. Maybe I’ll just go browse …

    (darn you, Susan!) 😛

    • Thanks so much, Pam! Sometimes flatware feels like the “jewelry” of the table setting and I love it when I have a flatware that fits with the table/theme. It makes such a difference in the final look of the table.

      • That’s such an interesting and apt way to look at it — it’s like the jewelry. I love that analogy. Now I don’t feel so bad that I bought that sailboat flatware. :D:D:D

Here is another place to get the shark flatware.

  4. Oh, I really like the fish scale flatware and the aqua too! Thanks for sharing these. I so miss a beach trip this year. Heck, I miss any trip where we would’ve flown. 🙁 Llama Mia, Here We Goat Again….that’s all I got to say, and my tablescape shows it.

  5. Ha – that shark and fish flatware are fabulous! I love all your cute choices and tables. You make summer so fun! 😉 Thanks!

Hey, there~Love the nautical tables and flatware. I’m ordering the sailboat set. I also love the bubble glasses with the blue shell. Do you know where I should start looking for those? If you ever decide to do a nautical bedroom for summer, please, please, let us know! Maybe we need a linens day! Thank you kindly!

    • I love that sailboat set! I found the bubble glasses in Kohl’s many years ago. They dishes they were selling that coordinated with the glassware was hallmarked: Shoreline Collection by Home Studio. So I’m guessing the glassware was by the same company. Not sure where you can find it now…maybe check on eBay. I just searched for it on eBay and found a few of the small glasses here: https://bit.ly/3eRNehu . Maybe just keep an eye out on eBay. You can also check Replacements.com .
Love the idea of a nautical bedroom! My upstairs family room as a bit of a nautical theme with some shells displayed over the sofa and lighthouse watercolors over the sofa and on either side of the armoire in that room. I also recently added a blue chest to that room and have a beachy painting hanging over it. Here’s a link to a previous posts showing that room:

Every one of those flatware patterns looks awesome in your lovely settings! We needed to replace our everyday flatware after close to 20 years and I was so tempted to get Reed & Barton’s Sea Shells, which features a different shell on each piece – even though it’s sold in 5-pc. place settings like more formal flatware and we already have a formal set. But, since we live in New England but not on the coast, the price (I wanted service for 12 to keep us stocked between through dishwasher runs) plus the fact that I didn’t really like the shell featured on the knife – made me look for another pattern that would make sense year-round for us. I found just the right one – Colonial Shell II by Reed & Barton – it’s a large set inspired by their more formal 5-place settings of the original Colonial Shell. I bought it online through Ross-Simons jewelry store last year – it’s their exclusive – and couldn’t be happier. It’s a 90-piece service for 12 (including LOTS of extra salad forks and teaspoons) for just under $200. Their nicely weighted feel and graceful shell flourish reminds me of flatware from a grand hotel. The design is subtle, with just a hint of nautical flair…not too summery so it works for us every day of the year!

    • Is this it, Jill? https://bit.ly/32PU30v That is such a pretty pattern!
I used to have a set very much like that as my every day for many years. I can’t remember who it was by now. Actually, I think it was silverplate, not stainless. You can never go wrong with such a beautiful classic set! I love that shell pattern!

Did you by any chance see the set I purchased recently? I am really happy with it. The pieces are such a nice size and bigger than my previous everyday flatware. It also has twelve 5-piece place settings and came with several serving pieces. You can see it here: https://amzn.to/2CYcyVY I’ve found that I really need 12 place settings otherwise I’m always running out of spoons and salad forks, which I use a lot. Looks like the price has gone up. It was $99 when I bought mine and now it’s around $127.
I’m so tempted by the Colonial Shell pattern, love that design!

That’s the set! Yes, I remember seeing your new flatware with the beaded edge – it’s so nice! Our everyday dishes are Italian Countryside by Mikasa – they will be 20 years old soon and still look new. Of course I am a dish/place mat and napkin/napkin ring fiend so I mix lots of other things in with them.

  8. You have the most amazing Nautical collection of dishes and accessories !! Those Nautical tablescape are very terrific ! I mean, they looks from a store display, it has the great stack of plates, the stunning flatware, the fabulous chargers, the napkin rings; I mean, everything is Nautical !!
Thank you for sharing and for hosting TT.
    Stay safe and happy,
    Fabby

    • Thanks so much, Fabby! I do so love beachy things even though I’m totally landlocked where I live. lol
Hope you are having an awesome week!

My husband and I are avid sailors and I just about lost my mind over the sailboat silverware! I think I need the anchor and rope design too. Summer for us is always nautical!
