Welcome to the 734th Tablescape Thursday! Back on June 1, 2017, I shared my entire charger plate collection in one post. Since then, I've added 7 new charger designs to my collection and donated two sets. The two sets I decided to no longer keep are the large corn platter (top right corner) and the watermelon platter at the bottom right corner. The reason I decided to part with those is … [Read more...]
New Lighting–the Basement Staircase Is Transformed! Lots of Updates!
Yesterday was another busy day with the basement renovation. I managed to get a final coat of paint on the wall in the unfinished area and got the shelves fully primed in the smaller storage area. I need to buy paint for those and will do that today or tomorrow. The electrician was here for most of the day doing all kinds of good stuff! At my request, he installed dimmer switches for all the recessed … [Read more...]
Renovating 4 Spaces In My Home, And It’s Happening All A Once! Yikes!
Welcome to the 716th Metamorphosis Monday! The next few weeks are going to be pretty busy around here. I just had a new hot water heater installed and this week I have two different electrical companies coming out to give me estimates on adding additional lighting for the staircase that leads down to my basement/terrace level. Hard to believe when this home was built around 1982, the only lighting … [Read more...]
New Tablescaping Goodies, Attractive Storage Idea & the Room I’m Renovating Next
I'm headed over to Home Depot today. I have a project I'm working on in both the unfinished, the semi-finished, and the storage area of my basement. I will share a lot more about that on Monday for Metamorphosis Monday. In the meantime, I wanted to share a couple of table purchases I just made recently, as well as a few photos of the semi-finished part of the basement at the end of this post. The fall … [Read more...]
We’re Off on a Safari for this Week’s Tablescape Thursday!
Welcome to the 733rd Tablescape Thursday! I wasn't sure what I'd be sharing for Tablescape Thursday this week because it's been a crazy, busy week. I'm typing this at 4 am because I literally can't sleep! When I'm planning home renovations, I find it hard to turn my brain off. This week I've been getting a lot of painting, electrical, and plumbing quotes. Today I had painters, plumbers, and electricians … [Read more...]
Shopping The Early Access Sale And A Favorite Out-of-Stock Item is Back!
Back in 2015, I made a small change to my front porch that had a huge impact. I changed out this dinky, not-so-nice-looking doormat for a bigger, better one. I was amazed by how it transformed my entrance! What a dramatic difference a doormat can make! This one below looked beautiful for many years. After about 5 years, I decided to order a new one since the original one shown below was … [Read more...]
My September Favorites–Some New Goodies and A Few Perennial Favorites
I have a variety of favorites to share this month. A few I have shared before, but they bear sharing again since I continue to use and love them on a regular basis. You may even spot a few great Christmas gifts in today's post. After setting last week's Halloween table setting for Tablescape Thursday, and using some Colonial Candle tapers in that table, I decided to check out what they had available for … [Read more...]
Quoth the Raven, “Nevermore.” A Candlelit Table for Halloween
Welcome to the 732nd Tablescape Thursday! I rarely buy new dinnerware these days since I have plenty for entertaining and such, but every once in a while I'll stumble across some salad plates that steal my heart and I can't pass them up. One of my favorite Halloween decorations, maybe even my favorite, are these spooky blackbirds that I came across quite a few years back in Hobby Lobby. … [Read more...]
Where Would You Love to Live–Beach, City, Mountains–or Somewhere In Between?
Welcome to the 714th Metamorphosis Monday! I guess I've always been a city girl, not "hard-core city" like living in Atlanta, but more low-key city living, life in the burbs 25-30 minutes outside a big city. That lifestyle has worked well over the years, especially when my son was in elementary, middle, and high school. Back then, schools were the most important factor in choosing where to … [Read more...]
