Welcome to the 718th Tablescape Thursday!
I haven’t had a chance yet to thank you for all the wonderful suggestions left on my June 24th post. They were all incredibly helpful. I will do a follow-up post very soon because I think I may have figured out what was causing the issues I’ve been having–more on that real soon. But I just wanted to say Thank You and let you know how much I appreciated each and every suggestion!
I was so excited for this week’s Tablescape Thursday because I love setting a table for the 4th of July! It’s one of my most favorite holidays of the year. We are out on the porch for this week’s party.
I also love bringing out this wonderful flag dinnerware for the 4th!
The pattern is by Sakura and the design is by Warren Kimble. There’s a fair amount of this pattern currently available right now on eBay, including a large set here: Patriotic Flad Dinnerware.
The blue star napkins are surprisingly available again and on sale here: Star Napkins. I purchased mine many years ago so I’m happy to see they are back again. The red, white, and blue check napkins are also available here: Red, White, and Blue Check Napkins.
I pulled out these cute bicycle napkin rings for this week’s table. They were a find in Pier 1 several years back.
Here’s a better view of this wonderful flag dinnerware–love the design so much! The glasses are from Dollar Tree a few years back.
I think the chargers were from Pier 1–been so long, hard to remember. I just found them available in two colors here: Rattan Chargers.
I couldn’t decide if I should go with red flatware or with blue for this table, so I ended up using them both, alternating the two colors around the table.
The cobalt blue flatware is Cambridge Silversmiths Neapolitan flatware. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find it available anywhere online. Hopefully, it will eventually be back again.
Same for the red flatware that’s by Hampton–couldn’t find it in stock anywhere.
I stopped by Publix and picked up one of their small gourmet-style cakes. I love the cakes they create for holidays.
I decorated the outside of my cake cover with patriotic ribbon and four pinwheel napkin rings I made quite a few years back.
These napkin rings were super easy to make and actually a lot of fun!
Here’s a little closer view…I just draped the part of the napkin ring that holds the napkin over the top handle of the cover.
You’ll find a detailed tutorial for making these patriotic napkin rings here: DIY Red, White, and Blue Napkin Rings.
Isn’t this the cutest cake?! It’s the perfect size for a small dinner party or gathering.
I often use these cute red and blue lawn chairs to hold cupcakes, but this year I picked up these yummy Petit Fours in the Publix bakery. The little chairs were a find in Old Time Pottery many years ago. They were actually designed to hold candle votives but they work great for small desserts like cupcakes.
I hope you and your friends and loved ones have a fabulous 4th of July!
Looking forward to all the beautiful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

This is truly “STARtacula!!!” Ooohhh, it just makes me…feel GOOD!! SALUTE’ !!! franki
I’m so glad, Franki! 🙂 Happy 4th to you!
So festive and so patriotic Susan! I love those little chairs, they are so cute holding a little dessert. Much cuter than holding a candle and more yummy too. lol I love 4th of July too and I don’t know why as I don’t go anywhere or do anything, I think maybe it is the patriotic colors and patterns that stirs my patriotism and love for my country. Anyway, I love your table setting, so beautiful with the cake as the centerpiece. Hugs, Brenda
Couldn’t love this tablescape more–Everything! But especially the starred napkins; they are so eye-catching. Happy 4th!
Thanks so much, Mia! I really love napkins, too! Glad to see they are back in stock again.
Happy a fabulous Independence Day, Mia!
lol I agree, love them for desserts a lot more than candles. I know what you mean, it always gets to me, too. Thanks so much, Brenda! XXX
Beautiful patriotic table! The bike napkin rings are adorable.

Your patriotic table is so inviting. Can I come over for lunch?? The little cake is adorable and I absolutely love the way you decorated the cover dome. I’m going to try to copy it.
Thanks so much, Bev! It was really easy and also, I didn’t mention this, but it’s still easy to lift the top off. The little decorations didn’t interfere with that part at all.
Happy 4th of July to you and your family!

You always have such unusual pieces to make your tables fun and interesting! I do love this patriotic one especially!!
Thanks so much, Linda! I always love to add a bit of whimsy or a little twist somewhere to make it fun.
Happy 4th of July to you and your family!

SO festive Susan – I love your little lawn chairs, and that cake looks fabulous! Alternating the flatware gives it just an extra little bit of wonderfulness, too – you are so creative. Thanks as always for hosting the party, and I hope your 4th of July is all kinds of fun!
Thanks so much, Barbara! I don’t think I’ve ever done that in a table. I’ve mixed flatware in each setting, but I don’t think I’ve alternated it that way, at least not that I remember. It seemed to work with this table. 🙂 Happy 4th of July, I hope you have an awesome one!

Very festive! I love the 4th of July, too. This table is so fun and inviting. I like that you mixed and matched your red and blue setting, it gives the table balance. Happy 4th!
What a beautiful Red,White and Blue tablescape.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY
Joan,Marion and Marilyn
Such a fun & festive table—I love it! I’ll be 65 on July 3rd—I am so lucky to have lots of fun & celebrating & fireworks with family on & around my birthday!
Susan, I always look forward to the patriotic dates when you might use this Dinnerware. I just love it so much. And the little chairs are favorites, as well. I actually like that you alternated the flatware, and both sets are so pretty. Too bad they are no longer available. The little bicycle napkin ring holders just say ‘summertime’ to me. Makes me think of kids getting out of school, warm weather, outdoor games, lemonade — all the good stuff that summer brings. Thanks. And Happy Independence Day to you!
Beautiful table Susan! I love red, white, and blue tablescapes and yours is so pretty – the Warren Kimball plates are just gorgeous and are such a creative design. Love the napkins and bicycle napkin rings – they are so cute. And the cake looks delicious, I hope you enjoy. Happy Independence Day to you!
Hi Susan – it was so nice to see your patriotic “tablescape” and I always like to see your readers’ ideas and photos, as well.
Do you think anyone would like to contribute a photo of their patriotic Front PorchScape?? Do you decorate your front porch for Independence Day?
Happy 4th!!
Thanks, Liz! I have decorated my front porch in the past but I think it was before I began blogging. I hung bunting across the front top of my porch–which I loved, but it felt dangerous getting up that high on a ladder, so I decided to not do that again. lol You can see how I decorated the screened porch for the 4th here: https://betweennapsontheporch.net/patriotic-porch-for-the-4th-of-july-welcome-to-the-128th-metamorphosis-monday-2/

Thank you for all of the beautiful ideas. We are entertaining friends on our dock this holiday weekend, so everything will be very casual, but I’ll try to make the buffet as festive as possible.
I hope you did find the culprit for your sinus problems. I have a regimen I have followed for years after consulting with my ENT, family doc, and pharmacist. I also have real issues when I fly. I hope you get better.
Thanks so much for hosting! Have a great weekend!!
Really enjoyed the Red, White & Blue tablescape! Thanks for providing the links as well.
Happy 4th of July,
Jo
