Welcome to the 50th Tablescape Thursday!
Wow, Can you believe it, it’s our 50th Tablescape Thursday! And two weeks from today is the one year anniversary of Between Naps on the Porch! I’m hoping to do something fun that week, still scheming and plotting. Speaking of scheming and plotting…there’s been a lot of monkey business going on this past week. Do you remember the tease pic I shared at the end of last week’s TT?
Well, this week’s tablescape popped into my head when I spied these colorful hula skirts at Big Lots. What do hula skirts and tablescaping have to do with each other? Inspiration can come in the strangest forms.
It’s still summer and the porch still calls…
Especially on days like today…a day filled with breezes that ruffled the sheers.
Bright summer days call for bright summer colors…
Welcome to the Monkey Bar and Grill…your table is right this way!
I’ve had these napkin rings for several weeks…wasn’t sure when I’d used them. Today seemed like the perfect day.
Salad Plate is made by Spode and part of the Kim Parker Home Collection. Pattern is Emma’s Garland “Clover.” (Dinner plate is by Gibson and is available at Big Lots.)
My heart skipped a beat when I first spotted these darling chargers. They are also by Spode and part of the Kim Parker Home Collection…Emma’s Garland. (Salad and charger were found at Marshalls.)
No monkey bar would be complete without a mischievous monkey!
And as you can see…he has friends!
When the conversation is good, dinner can last long into the night…
It’s was just starting to get dark outside…and as the light waned, I had a little four-legged help with my tablescaping. Do you see my helper?
Come nightfall, our table takes on a completely different feel. There’s just something magical about dining by candlelight.
The world fades away…
Looking forward to your beautiful tablescapes…this 50th Tablescape Thursday!

Susan,
I have been following your blog for sometime now and I am in love with all that you do. I live in a 2 bedroom town house and do not have a lot of extra room to work with but you have given me so many ideas that I feel like I have a real home. I live alone as well and so I am able to take complete liberty in decorating my space.
thank you so much for your lovely inspirations. My favorite photos are those of your porch. I am a HUGE fan of front porches and hope, within the next year, to have a home with a porch.
thanks again for your lovely blog.
In Grace,
Marie
This is just beautiful, I so want to come to dinner 🙂
I've never taken part in Tablescape Thursday, I'm only seeing for the first time this past week your blog and the others that join in. And I have to say I am totally inspired. I have taken pictures of my table settings in the past but don't have the stuff to create a summer one. I'll read more about TT and see if I can post any theme or if it should be relevant to the season? I can't wait to browse Mr. Linky and see all the others.
Hugs Denise
How original you are. Love those chargers too!
sUCH A cute fun tablescape and I LOVE the monkey!!! You are always so clever when it comes to tablescapes and this is certainly another great one. You are the tablescape guru — we can all learn from you.

I haven't been able to post a Tablescape for the last couple of times…but I still love to come back and comment on everyone's and be inspired!! Happy 50th TT!
Susan, Just so beautiful! I have enjoyed your tablescapes so much and have to thank you for bringing so much beauty into my life.
Your site is a joy to visit and I thank you for all the pleasure it has given me.
Oh what fun and whimsy! I love the tropical theme, the grass skirts, and your monkey pitcher. Now, how about a banana daquiri?
Came to you via link from Once Upon the Plate. What a fabulous array of tablesettings…I'll back each month. Right now off to 'tweet' this post.
As usual your tablescape is so cool. This one was so playful! I'm going to have to get my act together and do another Tablescape Thursday soon myself.
If you'd like to stop by my blog sometime soon…I have an award for you. I know sometimes these things can get tiresome and I'm sure you get so many of them. I truly do enjoy your blog so much though that I immediately thought of you. The recipients are supposed to, in turn, give it away to 15 more bloggers….that seemed like a really big number to me because it was very time consuming. Anyway, I'm letting everyone know that they can give the award to as many or as few as they want. That way it isn't a burden and remains the nice gesture that it is meant to be. 🙂
So please feel free to handle it anyway you like. I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy what you do!
Hello Susan – this has to be the cutest, colorful, most playful table scape I've ever seen! The idea to put the hula skirts on the table is genius. Cutealicious! Of course I love the Emma Garland pattern and those napkin rings looks so pretty. That monkey pitcher steals the whole show! He's too funny. Thank you for sharing!

I love the tables you set and photograph. I thought you were a designer but you say no. So, my question to you is, do you set up the tables each week just for the blog? Do you entertain each week and do the tables for that? You have such an eye and such great color and style sense.
You need to have your own t.v. show or magazine!! You are so talented you just blow me away!!! Loved the survey too,all the best,Chrissy
This is just the most adorable tablescape! I love your back porch when it's dark with the lamps & candles lit! ☺ Diane
