Nautical Decor & Tablescape for a 3-Season Porch

Welcome to the 406th Tablescape Thursday!

For this week’s Tablescape Thursday, we’re off for a visit to Linda’s beautiful 3-season porch. You may remember Linda’s porch from this previous post where I shared all the details about how she and her hubby converted their outside patio area to a mosquito-free space they enjoy all year around: An Ordinary Patio Becomes a Beautiful Three-Season Porch

Beautiful 3-Season Porch Addition

Linda changes up the decor on her porch for the seasons and holidays throughout the year. Last summer she went with a soft palette in shades of aqua blue. Sooo relaxing and pretty!

This year Linda decorated in a beautiful navy blue and white nautical theme. I absolutely love this! This is such a great example of how you can completely change the look of a room with accessories like the pillows, throws, rugs, etc… if the base furnishings are a neutral tone or color.

Linda created a wonderful nautical-themed tablescape to enjoy when dining on the porch this summer. Linda described it as “decor on a budget” adding, “I change so often, I don’t like to invest too much.”

Linda found the blue and white nautical plates at Christmas Tree Shops. The dinner plates are from Horchow and Linda caught those on a good sale. It appears they are sold out but I found some that are very similar and also on sale here: 16-piece Dinnerware Service

The glasses are from Dollar Tree. I have some of these and you would never know they are dollar store glasses. The napkins are actually dish towels from Tuesday Morning. They work so well in this setting and a towel is so much better than a little napkin when you’re eating messy seafood like crab claws or shrimp.

Nautical Summer Table Setting

Let’s explore this wonderful space a bit more. Linda found the beautiful compass rose pillow in a gift shop in Maryland, but she said she recently saw it in a Ballard Designs catalog, too. The pillows on either side of the compass rose pillow are from Wal-mart.

Did you notice Linda’s sheer curtains? She just recently added those to the porch. She found those in Wal-mart for just for $4.98 a panel, the same place I found the ones I sometimes hang on my screened porch. They last forever and you can’t beat that price! The anchor pillow is also a Wal-mart find.

Linda found the cream-colored garden stool in Home Depot. Her hubby uses it to hold drinks. Garden stools make the best little tables! The navy garden stool is from HomeGoods. The big sailboat was a find in Marshalls or TJ Max quite a few years back.

Don’t you love the saying on this pillow! Linda created/designed this pillow herself. She said, ” I actually crafted it from a pillowcase that had the quote on it and found the larger pillow in Marshalls. It’s a Ralph Lauren pillow that has a zippered pillow cover. So, I cut the pillowcase apart and used iron-on fusible webbing to attach it to the RL pillow cover. Then I used fabric glue to add trim and buttons.” Genius idea!

So when you’re out shopping for pillows, if you don’t see what you need, here’s a clever way to create your own!

Linda spends a lot of time here on the porch with family throughout the year so she always keeps it ready for entertaining. Such a beautiful display!

Oh, let’s take a look on this side of the room!

I’m crazy about this retro-style cooler Linda found for keeping drinks cold here on the porch.

Summer Entertaining on the Porch

When not in use as a cooler, Linda frequently uses it as an ice bucket.  I want one!

Retro Steel Cooler for Parties

I especially like that it’s constructed of steel and has a cute lid with a handle for easy access. That makes it great for entertaining.

Thanks so much to Linda for sharing her beautiful porch all decorated for summer and a fabulous, nautical table setting!

You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate.

That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yep, that really happens, unfortunately.)

Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links.

Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

  6. I’m changing out my Nautical today for 4th of July tablescape. Those little plates remind me of the ones I picked up from Pottery Barn last year. I’d love to sit on her porch in a snow storm. How pretty would that be to see the snow falling there?

I need to find more decor to tie in the living room and kitchen with the dining room. Marshall’s and TJ Maxx need to be my new best friends.

(Oh and you can find those initial mugs at the job. Speaking of…, it’s not even July yet and we’re already getting in pumpkin linens).

The table actually came from The Christmas Tree Shops a couple of years ago….I haven’t seen it since. But check Kirklands, they have some neat console type tables.

Also, in one of the pictures displayed on shelves was a set of white cream & sugar. I have been trying to find them everywhere. If you have an opportunity, please ask Linda where I too might be able to locate them. Thank you so much.
