Welcome to the 12th Tablescape Tuesday! Let's celebrate the approach of the holiday season with a tablescape that has the feel of a snowy evening. I've dimmed the lights and lit the candles...so glad you've stopped by this chilly winter night. The centerpiece for our winter-scape is a silver "tree" covered in 17 Swarovski crystal ornaments. I've been collecting them since 1991, when Swarovski … [Read more...]
Photography That Will Make You Hungry…
Take a look at these amazing pics! Nice, huh? Well here's the shocker...all the items shown in these pics are actually FOOD! These scenes are the work of Carl Warner and they are all created using only food! If you look closely you can identify the food used to create them. Is the river (or ocean) chocolate milk? Can you imagine the time it took to do all these?! I read at the artist's website … [Read more...]
A Magnolia & Lemon Centerpiece
Welcome to the 11th Tablescape Tuesday! On one of my trips to A Classy Flea this past summer, I came across this happy daisy china. It was love at first sight! I used place mats and matching napkins I already had. The faux bamboo flatware is from Big Lots...very inexpensive but I love it. This is an American made dishware and it dates back to the 1960s. It was made by Metlox Potteries out … [Read more...]
Tour a Beautiful Historic Victorian Home in Newnan, Georgia

A ramble is just that...rambling around through the town where the tour is being held and rambling in and out of some amazing historic homes. The ramble, which took place a couple of weeks ago, was in the town of Newnan, Georgia. Fortunately, Newnan was largely untouched by the American Civil War due to its status … [Read more...]
Dreaming of Lace…
I came across this picture in a magazine and unfortunately, I can no longer remember the name of it now. It stopped me dead in my tracks. Does that ever happen to you? It doesn't happen to me very often. I have perused so many decorating magazines and books over the years that it takes something really different to grab my eye. After I closed my mouth before a big honking fly flew in, I drooled over the … [Read more...]
A Springtime Table Setting with Ma Maison
Welcome to the 9th Tablescape Tuesday! My screened-in porch was finished in early spring. Just before the work was complete, I went on a serious shopping spree for "stuff" I would need for this new space. One of those items on my shopping list was china...something special for those summer dinners on the porch. One day while shopping in Home Goods, I found the china of my dreams. Let's just … [Read more...]
