Welcome to the 244th Metamorphosis Monday!
Holiday Before and After:
Since tomorrow is the 1st day of October, I thought it would be fun to share some older posts filled with lots of Halloween decorating inspiration and ideas.
This photo and the next one are from Pottery Barn a few years back. I love this porch!
Doesn’t this make you want to paint your door orange just for the month of October? Both of these porches along with some easy decorating ideas can be found here: Halloween Porches (via Pottery Barn)
I love doing this to my front staircase each year. 🙂 It’s easy and makes me smile each time I climb the stairs.
Additional photos can be found here: Decorate a Staircase for Halloween with Mice
Decorate a Porch for Halloween with Pumpkin Topiaries: I’m thinking about doing this again this year but maybe with different color pumpkins. Pumpkin topiaries are great for fall because you can create them now and enjoy them all the way through Thanksgiving up until it’s time to decorate for Christmas.
A few years back I posted templates and directions for carving pumpkins in fun designs.
You’ll find all the details plus my reenactment of a Home Alone scene in this post: Pumpkin Carving Tips and Templates for Halloween
A fun Halloween craft: Make a Candlelit Lantern for Halloween Do you see the bat silhouette?
In this Halloween tablescape, I decorated the chair backs. You’ll find this spooky table here: Decorate Chair Backs for Halloween
This was a fun table to create because it has a spider web tablecloth. Tablescape can be found here: Halloween Table Setting with Spider Web Tablecloth
The recipe for the cupcakes is in that table setting post, too.
Hope you enjoyed this look back at a few of the Halloween ideas posted at BNOTP. You’ll find many more under The Holiday Home/Halloween category at the top of the blog.
Looking forward to the Before and Afters linked for this Met Monday!
If you are participating in Metamorphosis Monday, you will need to link up the “permalink” to your MM post and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then just copy and paste the address that shows up in the address bar at the top of your blog, into the “url” box for InLinkz.
In order to link up, you’ll need to include a link in your MM post back to the party so the other participants will have an opportunity to receive visits from your wonderful blog readers.
Please observe these few rules:
Only link up Before and After posts that are home, gardening, crafting, painting, sewing, cooking, DIY related.
Do not link up if you’re doing so to promote a website or product.
Do not link up a post that was just linked last week since a lot of readers will have already seen that post.
Do not type in ALL CAPS. It spreads the links waaaay out.
Welcome! Thanks for coming to the party!
Love all your ideas and Halloween decorating Susan! Let the haunting begin 🙂
Thanks, Mary! Yes, indeed! 🙂
Your porches always look amazing Susan, as always! Can’t wait to see what you choose to do this year. Thanks so much for hosting…

Thanks, Cindy! ♥
I love seeing your older posts like this Susan! Your porch with the pumpkin topiaries was stunning. But trying to find stacking pumpkins….that takes perseverance. If you do it again…I bow to you.
Here’s to Extraordinary decorating!
Happy Fall!!
~Diane
Thanks, Diane! They are hard to find, aren’t they? The ones I found last year that worked were called Heirloom pumpkins.
Good Monday Morning, Susan! Love the PB porch and mice on stairs – so great. I’m excited to share with you readers the story of the transformation (restoration) of an historical beaded purse in my collection today! Thanks for providing the venue and hosting. Have a great week.

Such fun decorating for Fall. Still getting more things out of my attic . Also, I can’t pass a pumpkin patch without picking up another large pumpkin- white one please ! Love your porch. It will look really pretty with different colored pumpkins. I too have a big thing for crows and like to add them around . I am soon having a sit down dinner for 30 in my home. Designing the tables right now. Fall is such a wonderful time to find beautiful items and perfect colors. Thanks for sharing Susan. You always have great ideas.
Your posts are always a wonderful addition to my day. I love Halloween and your porch always looks wonderful decorated for Fall and Halloween. I decorate my office at work for Halloween. I put up my witch, ghost trick or treater, haunted house and a flying witch on my door. All are lighted (batteries) and look so cute. And, of course, I have a Halloween canister of candy! Have a great Monday, Susan.
So many great ideas for Halloween and Fall, Susan. Thanks for sharing!…Christine
Thanks so much for hosting, Susan!
Love all the fall and Halloween inspiration! Thanks for hosting. Happy Monday!

Too bad someone can’t come up with a good “peel and stick and remove” cover for our doors — one for each holiday! You always have such great ideas. I don’t do much for Halloween any more, but it is fun to see what others do. I only started pulling out my fall stuff yesterday, so I am way behind. All this inspiration is waiting for me, so now I need to check it out. Thanks for party.
Oh my dear Susan! I am loving all the inspiration you have on your blog today! I like my Halloween spooky and fun…just like “The Burbs” that is an awesome movie!!! thanks for including it in your line up, you are a TRUE Halloween fan…I wish I was a trick or treater at your door tthis Halloween to take a peek of it all! Have a great week!
I can’t believe how creative are. Thanks for hosting such a lovely party.
Love your page and I’m your newest follower! I recently began blogging and I’ve linked up to your party… thank you for hosting! Have a great week =)
Amazing your Halloween and Fall decor ideas and thank you for sharing them again, as I am not very inspired, as I’m into my grandgirl’s First Communion lately, lol.. I will start though. Thank you so much for hosting this great party too! Have a wonderful week Susan.
FABBY
Susan, you’re front porch looks like it belongs in one of those magazines! It really does. Of the others, I especially love that first picture with the black door. And thanks for the tips. I’m going to go check out your little mouse idea and I’m looking forward to getting some pumpkin carving templates. Fun! 😀
So many great ideas! I saw Hocus Pocus was on yesterday while studying, and turned it on to see that great house at the beginning of the movie where they are hosting a Halloween party. Jennifer
Susan, thanks for hosting another fun party.
Wonderful Fall inspiration in your post and all the links! Thanks for hosting. 🙂

Yikes I feel as if I am behind when I see all these great front porch ideas. Although I looked this morning and I have a REAL spider web near the door.
My sister grew some heirloom pumpkins this year. I haven’t checked on them in a while. We will be using them for my niece’s wedding October 19th.
Thanks for the movie suggestions and don’t forget the movie Hocus Pocus. Practical Magic was on TV about 2 wks ago. Love the movie!

Hi Susan: Thank you for hosting the party for us. I like your Halloween decor ideas, especially the lit pumpkins and mice going up the stairs–cute! Last night we went to see a production of Julius Caesar, and that felt fairly Halloween-y to me!
Great Party that you host for us each week. I love your tablescapes. How fun and for a Halloween dinner party.

Wow…I have been a Halloween lover all my life and your ideas ROCK! I love the chairs with the black roses and the stairs with the rats and such. My daughter did a large tree and cats, etc in black paper on her walls last year for she and her husband’s yearly bash. 🙂 I also like the jar candles…very creative and having taught crafts for many years to children and adults, I would have to say that that idea is really perfect for any afternoon class. So glad I subscribe! Kudos!
Thanks, Nancy! Halloween parties, especially costume parties, are my fave. The laughs go on all night! The tree and cats sounds fun! 🙂
Thanks you for hosting this party. You are so sweet….
🙂

Hi Susan, Love all you Halloween décor and thanks for hosting.
I was so smitten by that orange door and the black feather wreath from Pottery Barn a couple of years ago, I really almost painted my front door orange. But good sense prevailed (my HOA would of had a fit) I ended up going with the daring color of black. Fortunately I did not get any flack over the black (that rhymes – LOL). I still have a couple of black feather boas from our trip to New Orleans that I can use to make a feather wreath for this year. But I still think the wreath would luck best on an orange door. Thank you for hosting Susan.
SUSAN,
IM SURE YOU COULD BE THE NEXT MARTHA STEWART! I HOPE U HAVE MANY GRANDCHILDREN TO SHARE YOUR CREATIVE HOMESTYLE WITH DOWN THE ROAD. YOU HAVE QUITE A CREATIVE MIND !
HUGS,
ANN

Thanks for hosting the party and for all the Halloween inspiration.
Will you be posting any pics of the inside of your friend’s home? I am always amazed at seeing her wonderful decorations. I can see why you two have such a good time together. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Jennifer! Check out this past post from Christmastime. It shows the inside and at the end of that post, I’ve linked to other posts that share the other rooms decorated for Christmas. https://betweennapsontheporch.net/tour-a-beautiful-victorian-home-decorated-for-christmas/
Oh, yes! I remember those! She is a lucky girl with lots of talent. I wish I had storage for all that wonderful stuff. I hope we get to see some Halloween inside pics. Thanks again.
