Celebrating 800 Tablescape Thursdays & Looking Forward To Many More!

Welcome to the 800th Tablescape Thursday! Wow! Did I really just type the number 800?! That’s 800 weeks and over 15 years of Tablescape Thursdays! Thank you so much for coming along on this fun, exciting, wonderful journey with me!

A special Thank-You to each dear heart who has joined this party over the years with a beautiful table setting, and a big Thank-You to the readers who have shared their tables with me so I could share them with you. What say we do this for another 15 years? I’m ready if you are! ♥

For this milestone Tablescape Thursday, I thought it would be fun to share some of the tables I’ve put together over the past 15 years. Of course, there’s no way to include them all in one post, but I chose a few favorites that stood out in my mind. I hope you enjoy this meander down memory lane.

Please note, the tables I’m sharing in this post are an eclectic mix of whimsical, seasonal, and holiday settings. They aren’t in any particular order. If there’s a table you may have missed in the past and would like to view it in more depth, click the “title” for that table to see it in full.

Spring Table with Clay Saucer Chargers (Click title to view table) This spring table was one of the very early tables I set for Tablescape Thursday and one of my favorite since it included a desert that looked like a potted flower. Ha! Can’t remember now if I included the recipe in the table setting post. If I didn’t and you would like the recipe, let me know and I’ll find the post where I shared that.

Hot Cocoa Bar for Winter Entertaining. (Click title to view table.) Over the years for some of our Tablescape Thursdays, I’ve shared a makeover of the porch hutch. I haven’t done that in a very long time. I think it’s time for one of those this spring.

Hot Chocolate Bar

Cozy Fireside Tea. (Click title to view table.) Once in a great while, I’ve posted a simple tea setting or a table for two for Tablescape Thursday.

Winter Table Setting, Tablecloth Compliments of Mother Nature. (Click title to view table.) I’ll never forget the table I set in the snow. Ha! The idea for this table didn’t come to me until the temp started rising and the snow was just starting to melt. It was a race against the sun and the rising temps to finish this table and photograph it before it was too late. The birds coming to the feeders hanging off the pergola overhead were very interested in this table, too! lol

Sakura, Christmas Village by David Carter Brown in Winter Table Setting

Spring Easter Table Setting with Wisteria Centerpiece (Click title to view table.) This was the table setting that taught me why you never see Wisteria blossoms in a centerpiece. Wisteria blooms wild here in Georgia and I’ve always thought it was so pretty, so I pulled my car over and snipped a few bunches that were growing wild on the side of the road. Those clippings barely made it home before they started trying to wilt. I managed to get the table set and photographed before they wilted away. I loved the soft colors in this table so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Easter Spring Table Setting Tablescape with White Bunny Rabbit and Wisteria Centerpiece

Valentine’s Day Table with DIY Heart Tree. (Click title to view table.) For this table, I decoupaged hearts with bits of sheet music and created a little heart tree for this Valentine’s Day-themed table setting.

Summer Table with Carved Watermelon Centerpiece. (Click title to view table.) After creating this table, I shared a tutorial for carving the whale centerpiece in a separate post. Let me know if you would like the link for that or just search for it using the search bar in the sidebar of the blog.

A Romantic Dinner in the Garden. (Click title to view table.) You’ll find all the “Tables for Two” that I’ve set over the years under the”Tablescapes/Occasion/Tables for Two” category at the top of the blog.

Tulips for Spring. (Click title to view table.) If you love this centerpiece, you’ll find a tutorial post sharing how to create this double-bowl centerpiece posted here: Double Bowl Hurricane Floral Centerpiece.

Easter Table Setting with Tulip Centerpiece and Bunny Cupcake Holders

Lobster & Crab Fest: Beach Party Table Setting (Click title to view table.) This was the first table where I used the DIY shell chargers I made after seeing some Pottery Barn Shell Chargers go for a crazy price in an eBay auction. These were so much fun to make!

Surf’s Up! Beach Vacation Time! (Click title to view table.) I ended up making shell chargers again and incorporating in pretty blue “sea glass” for a whole new look.

Nautical-themed table with 3 Different Styles of DIY Napkin Rings and DIY Shell Chargers. (Click title to view table.)

Whimsical Shark Fish Flatware

Sneaky Ants Steal All The Strawberries. (Click title to view table.) I love a table with a bit of whimsy, those are my favorites to create. 🙂

Spring Table With Antique Copeland Spode. Another oldie that I still remember so well.

Floral Centerpiece of Roses and Daisies

Spring-Easter Table Setting with Bunny Ears Napkin Fold. (Click title to view table.) You’ll find this fun napkin fold under Tablescapes/Napkin Folds a the top of the blog.

Floral Dinnerware in a Spring Table

A Christmas Village. (Click title to view table.) One of my earliest table settings–this was so much fun to create with some of my Department 56 Snow Village pieces, collected many years ago.

Daffodils, Daisies, and 4-Leaf Clovers for St. Patrick’s Day (Click title to view table.) St. Paddy’s Day is just around the corner!

Queen-of-Hearts Card Chargers (Click title to view table.) A whimsical Alice in Wonderland table with AIW dinnerware I found on a trip to Tuesday Morning. I need to visit TM again—hope they are still around!

I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane. Thank you again for being here and reading! BNOTP would not exist without you! ♥

  1. Yes to another 15 years! I’ve learned so much from you Susan. Thank you for this.

  2. Susan, congratulations on 800 Tablescape Thursdays! I read your blog long before I became a blogger. I always love your tablescapes, all are beautiful and creative! I enjoyed each one you shared today and there would be no way I could choose a favorite. Thank you for braving the snow for that lovely tablescape and I am always excited to see one in your stunning red dining room. I am in for 800 more!

  3. I only found you a little over a year ago, but WOW! Fifteen years???? This post is making me want to look at all the tablescapes starting at the beginning!!!! That’s an incredible journey and I am SO grateful you have shared it with us!!! CHEERS to fifteen more!!!

  4. Congratulations on your milestone Susan! You were one of the first blogs I discovered and visited when I started blogging 13 years ago. ♥

  5. Congratulations!♥

  6. Susan, It was your tablesettings that lured me into your blog. It was a Thanksgiving table setting a few years back. I have loved them ever since, albeit, I now have way more place settings for so many different events, and finding places to store them is sometimes challenging to say the least, expecially right now that my son and daughter-in-law are living with me, and another person. So storage is hard to find.

    • I’m so glad you are here, Margo! I know, it’s a slippery slope for sure. lol You are so blessed to have family living with you…love that!

  7. Dianne Thomas says

  9. Gosh, Susan, congratulations on 15 years of tablescaping shares! I remember the majority of these, and the two that really stuck in my mind were the one in snow, and the outdoor table for two with the geraniums. Such a great assortment, and you’ve certainly inspired me over the years. Thank you so much!

  10. Sabrina Holmes says

    Yes to another 15 years!

  11. Your tablescapes have been an inspiration! So much fun to go down memory lane. They led me into your blog and helped me determine the size of my porch. Congratulations on your success!

  12. Michele M. (Finch Rest) says

Oh my word, has it been 15 years already??? 800 incredible Tablescape Thursdays??? WOW! That is absolutely remarkable. It has been such fun to participate over the years, and also be an avid reader and lover of these wonderful tablescapes. Thank you, Susan. And yes, here’s to another 800 more!

  13. I don’t know for sure how long I’ve been reading your blog but it’s probably been that long. You are the most reliable blog to follow. I’ve learned a lot from your posts and have enjoyed reading every post. Congratulations!

  14. Oh my gosh – 800!! Congratulations Susan! As bloggers, we’re always hearing about how we need to be consistent. You are the perfect example. I’m as inspired by that, as I am by your gorgeous tables! I’ve only been around for 5 years, so I have lots of wonderful ones left to see. I’m going to start with the DIY Heart Tree – those soft colors make me so happy! Thank you so much for hosting all these years. It’s been great to meet everyone and share all the inspiration. Yes, here’s to 15 more years!

    • Thanks so much, Barbara! It has been a fun 15 years and I’m truly grateful for the experience. Thanks so much for those kind words–appreciate them so much!

  15. Congratulations, Susan on such an incredible milestone! Thank you for bringing your creative tablescapes into our homes each week — and thanks for the opportunity to participate. I’d love to continue for another 800!

  16. Thank you for this beautiful round-up! My all-time favorite is the one from your 100th Tablescape Thursday – it’s where I first found you and I was just floored by your porch, the beautiful Glenwood dinnerware, and of course those reticulated chargers! Susan, I also just want to thank you for fifteen years of amazing tablescape inspiration! Because of you and your blog, I came to understand that there was an actual hobby to be enjoyed around the random dishes I had been collecting for so many years up to that point! Tablescape Thursday, and the many wonderful bloggers who share their posts here, brought me into a world I didn’t even know existed – but quickly became obsessed with! It took me a few years before I really “took off” in my new hobby, but over the years I have enjoyed setting dozens of my own tables, started a Facebook group that now has almost 7,000 members, and made tablescaping one of the primary categories on my blog. I have gained so much inspiration from you and your fabulous “link partiers” that I just had to tell you how much it has meant to me! Thank you again for EIGHT HUNDRED installments – I’m looking forward to many more yet to come!

    • Janet, it seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating 100! I can’t believe how fast the years have flown by. Appreciate those kind words so much! It really is so much fun and I can hear how much joy it brings you. It’s so nice to among kindred spirits! ♥ I’m looking forward to the next 800!

  17. Susan, Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment! Your tablescapes have brought so much joy! They have also taught me so much, and have been such an inspiration!! Looking forward to many, many more years!! Thank you!!!! Patty

Loved the memories of all the settings. Thank you

  27. Congratulations on 15 years of tablescape Thursdays! I noticed that your examples above heavily favored spring/summer, lol. Got warm weather on your mind?

    • I noticed that, too. I think the warm weather gets my creative juices flowing. In winter, I just want to hunker down and stay warm. Have to fight the urge to use a blanket as a tablecloth for every table. lol

  28. Congratulations on the 15 years of tablescaping. I stumbled upon your blog years ago when searching for ideas on how to use my Dept 56 Dickens Village in a tablesetting. I could not believe my good fortune in finding your blog! You have inspired me in so many ways and I am “paying it forward” to two of my now young adult granddaughters who love coming to family gatherings to see what the tablescape looks like. Thank you for all the great ideas and tips. My favorites – the Spring Table and the Ants on Parade.

    • Thanks so much, Claudia! I remember when I set that first Dept. 56 table, I was hoping that other Dept. 56 collectors/fans would come across it. I love, love, love meeting others who enjoy charming Dept. 56 lit houses. That’s so wonderful about sharing the fun of tablescaping with your granddaughters—love that!

  30. Susan, 800 tablescapes! That is so impressive. Wow. I was there for most of these that you featured, but not all. I doubt anybody else has done 800 tablescapes! And they are all so different. What a testament to your creativity and design sense. Well, I agree with others. Let’s have at least another 800. Congratulations on such a milestone.

Congratulations on 15 years! I’ve been here since the beginning but rarely comment. Your beautiful blog helped me through a tragic time in my life when my parents and in-laws were all very ill and my husband and I were caregiving while working and raising teens. I could escape into your lovely blog. Thank you and looking forward to 15 more. Are you on Instagram?

    • Thanks so much, Anna! Appreciate you being here from the beginning–that’s amazing and so appreciated! So sorry you had to go through such a tough time, that sounds really challenging and difficult. I am on Instagram but I rarely post there since IG doesn’t share posts with subscribers like they should. But here’s the link in case you would like to follow there: https://www.instagram.com/betweennapsontheporch

  39. Wow, that is a lot of table settings Susan and each one is just as beautiful as the one before it! Congrats and I look forward to the next 15 years of posts as well!! Hugs, Brenda

  40. Congratulations on 800 Tablescape Thursdays and 15 years of blogging! Discovering your tablescapes and those shared via link by others was a true gift; it allowed me to see others who loved dishes as much as I did. So much eye candy and inspiration over the years. Many thanks and here’s to 15 more years!

  41. Hi Susan,
Congratulations on 15 years of wonderful tablescaping and making it possible for us to share and see yours and everyone else’s beautiful and creative tables. Think I have been with you for most of those 15 years, and have always enjoyed it so much. Don’t do quite as many fancy tables as I used to, but still enjoy seeing others tables and linking up when I do one myself. Thanks for all those years of being there, and looking forward to another 15 years and beyond.
    Blessings, Nellie
